Two years on from their fantastic Circles EP and the formidable combination of Berlin duo Tigerskin (aka Dub Taylor) and Jack Jenson return to Exploited Ghetto with another two prime cuts that are more than just dancefloor workouts. The gorgeous Heart Beat channels cool, introverted 80s electro pop by the likes of Depeche Mode, with sublime vocals courtesy of Isis. Stripped-back beats relay the tracks title rhythmically, underpinning plump bass that plays an arpeggiated melody in tandem with a crisp, classic synth line. Subtle FX, percussive fills and Isis vampy delivery are all thats needed to keep this sensual track rolling. Your Eyes is an entirely different proposition. Free-flowing live bass grooves from Frank Binkes talented fingers provides the backbone to a Balearic-tinged disco-oriented workout where dubby vocal delays and sweet harmonies soar over live percussion and flashes of twinkling synth magic. Hushed electric piano keys thicken the intonation, while the arrangement gradually develops alongside evolving atmospheric vocal textures. All in all, its a brilliantly sophisticated EP that shows real diversity and class.
